so i got my TPATH beer glass and shot glass combo in yesterday only to be shocked by what I found. There's a sticker on both glasses that says that potentially dangerous lead was used to decorate the glasses. WTF?! is that normal?

Don't let the baby get it. No lead is not normal in this day in time

Probably anything that doesn't come from China may be OK. I swear they are out to get us.

That can't have lead paint. It must be lead glass.

Wow. I don't recall such a warning sticker on the glasses we got a while ago, but I vaguely remember a small sticker but no warning.

Maybe I missed it? Seems hard to imagine. What did the sticker look like and where was it? Maybe this is a new thing?

Weird.

More ardent TP&HB fans may wish to refrain from licking the logo off of the glasses until they get a test kit at a hardware store and check out their glasses.

[edit] We have a large set of drinking glasses and also have a few of the TP&HB beer glasses - they are identical in every visible way right down to the small marking on the bottom of the glasses (that I think indicates which mold the particular glass came out of at the factory)

What I am getting at is the only visible difference between the TP&HB and the other drinking glasses is the logo painted on the outside of the glass.

So my completely unofficial off the cuff guess is that if there is lead at all it would be present in the logo itself.

There is a similar label on the bottom of the black mugs stating the exterior of this product contains lead or other chemicals known to the state of CA to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Looked at my shot glasses and sure enough there is a little warning sticker. States Californis PROP 65 with the warning mentioned above.

Never noticed it before...so far the shot glasses are for decorative purposes only Wink.

But I will certainly refrain from licking the logo!

^LOL!!!! Licking the logo!

Thank goodness I have never drank any liquids out of that Fillmore '97 shows thank you mug. Just had a suspicion there was something fishy about them with the gold reflective image and the black lacquer (and the 'Made In China' disclosure sticker on the bottom). Besides the sacred nature of the cup. Half empty, ya know...Wink

I didn't get the shot glass, but I do use the beer mug for water on the nightstand. Is that why I am experiencing delusional lizard visions? It isn't the Brazilian Ibogaine Effect? Instead, the TPATH Experience?

I have a shot glass. I've seen those warning labels on dishes from dollar stores around here. They say something like, this product might cause cancer in California... I laugh and think - so I guess it's ok for ME to use it here in Massachusetts... Roll Eyes

China is inexperienced - they don't care about poisoning people as long as they can get further into global commerce. Trouble is - I'm not sure that they're going to succeed if they don't change their standards.

When I was a kid you had to dig a deep hole to get to China. Now all you have to do is go to Wal-mart. I have only 2 pieces of TP memorabilia that are made here in USA. I wish Tom could do something about that but I imagine his hands are tied.

Thank you for shopping at Wal-mart!
