I was wondering how many of you on this site have heard the studio version of the song “Don’t Bring Me Down” performed by TPATH (Animals cover)? It was in heavy rotation in Detroit about the time Damn the Torpedos was released. It is an outstanding cover….for some reason however the live version on Pack the Plantation was pale in comparison. I wonder why this tune was never on any TPATH rarity cds….like Playback or remastered version of Torpedos. Would love to get my hands on an mp3 since it was never released.

Not sure if it was the same version that was aired on the radio back in 1980 since i was around five years old back then but there is a studio version of the song that has circulated on bootlegs for years now dating from the "You're Gonna Get It!" sessions.

As to why they've never released the studio version on an album, perhaps because they've already released a live recording of the song on PUTP?

I dunno.
