I have an extensive TP collection which includes promo posters from almost every album before Full Moon Fever, lots of clippings, an embroidered tour jacket from circa 1979, a stadium banner from the Dylan/Petty tour and much more.

I'm planning on peddling it somewhere (I would say sell but don't want to violate policy) and would ultimately like it to go to a true Petty believer.

Is eBay everyone's first stop when they are searching for TP items?

Not sure what the best way is to go but I wanted to comment that I am sorry you need to part with the collection Frown Seems like something like that might be more meaningful kept in one piece and not broken up..... Just my .02

[edit: A Stadium Banner? OK please tell us the story behind that artifact! Smile I'm sure every item in the collection has its own story... Something that you can't really sell on Ebay I'm afraid]

When I was selling some of my Brett Favre items a couple years ago, I set up a free website with pictures and item descriptions, prices, etc. I posted the link to the website on some Packer/Brett Favre messageboards and people contacted me and bought items that way. It avoided the fees that ebay charges. I had a very good experience selling the stuff that way.

While singing to TPATH, "Quiet Mommy, I'm trying to listen to Thomas." Brett, age 5.
After listening to a Mudcrutch show I asked Brett what she thought about the new Mudcrutch music. Her response: "It's great. I didn't know it would be so thrilling." Brett, age 6.
"All right, now we're at the part of the show that we just go rip roarin crazy. Are you ready to go rip roarin crazy with me?" Tom Petty 6/28/03 Summerfest
Baby, those few hours linger on in my head forever...

Yeah, I'd definitely be interested in seeing what all you have, even if you can't 'officially' sell them on here >> << >>

eBay is a decent place if you're looking to make a lot on it. It sounds like your intention, tho, is to make sure it goes to a 'true' fan. Unfortunately, despite my eBay fandom, I have to say that it's not the place to sell if that's the case. There would probably be lots of people hoping to sell it for more that would bit on that sort of thing...
