I just watched it again for about the 5th time... and no apologies necessary Factrygrl !! It is one thing to have a misstep when you are really trying to perform authentic music... but to come on a show that is about being LIVE and then faking it... to create a persona that is "rockin" compared to your sister (who actually sings by the way... although I don't like Jessica's style... she at least actually does SING!) .... to perpetuate yourself as the antidote to all those other pop tarts... well, don't bruise your ass too much on the fall down I say!!!!

I normally would not attack any artist who was really trying to create and perform an original expression of their art... hey, I have crashed and burned at open mikes and gigs myself with my meager talents, so I know how that feels, but at least they were MINE... this is PRICELESS!!!!!

bwaaahhhaaahahahahahahahaahah!!!!! Big Grin

thank you normandi, i feel less guilty now!! but I'm sure it was wrong of me to replay it for the rest of my family and all laugh in unison. That MUST have been wrong!!
I had to go and find a TP&HB performance on SNL to redeem my image of the show. All better now...

Nah, I would call this an attempt to defraud folks, not an embarrassing misfortune. She fell off of her sister's coat tails rather quickly... Big Grin

The SNL soundstage is notorious for having lousy aucoustics but, their musical guests have been sounding a lot better as of late.
Now we know why.

The only thing that is really surprising about the Simpsons (yes, both of them) is that anyone has taken them seriously in the first place.
I mean,
was not Berlin's version of Take my Breath Away good enough?!?
Did Jessica Simpson do anything remarkable to it, change it, improve it in any way?
Nope, she just took someone else's hard work and claimed it for her own...
I'd say shame, shame, shame but what I really mean is,
who the heck cares?!?

Milli Vanilli returns.
Seems this lesson is doomed to repeat.
Wonder if her band is still her band.

As for sharp, instantly perceptive kids:
they can put you thru your paces as they hit their teens. Hope you have plenty of support from extended family members and friends who can step in when the mental heat gets turned up. Remember to take your Geritol, mom! Smile Congratualtions and good luck!

It's funny, on one hand I feel like, "good! Expose them all!" because the music industry is in such lousy shape. On the other hand, I feel badly for this poor girl... well, Ok, maybe she's "not that innocent" Roll Eyes, but she's only doing what she's been told to do by her manager or whoever and the poor thing can't really sing on key and that's humiliating for anyone, let alone someone so young, blah, blah, blah.

But good. Maybe this will be one more kick in the pants to the music industry.

Clarissa, I want to feel sorry for the girl too... I mean, she's probably crying right now! But damn, you don't see MY talentless butt on stage trying to fake it for attention. I'm sorry she probably feels bad, but I can also appreciate the "kick in the pants to the music industry".

still...

Hell... do not feel sorry for this talentless loser. Here is part of her interview with Lucky Magazine from October:

From Lucky Magazine interview (10/23/04):

LM: What are your takes on lip-synching?

AS: I'm totally against it and offended by it. I'm going out to let my real talent show, not to just stand there and dance around. Personally, I'd never lip-synch. It's just not me.
