Big Grin I got this Email today - and it reminded me of when I was a young hippie - the saying was:
" Don't trust anyone over 30 "

Now us old freaks say " Don't trust anyone wihout 'life experience' "

HA HA!! how age makes fools of all of us!
Anyway.. I thought you all might get a laugh over this...
````````````````````````````````````````````
There was a time not long ago
when life was quite a blast.
Now I fully understand
about "Living in the Past"
We used to go to weddings,
football games and lunches.
Now we go to funeral homes,
and after-funeral brunches.
We used to have hangovers,
from parties that were gay.
Now we suffer body aches
and while the night away.
We used to go out dining,
and couldn't get our fill.
Now we ask for doggie bags,
come home and take a pill.
We used to often travel
to places near and far.
Now we get sore asses
from riding in the car.
We used to go out shopping
for new clothing at the Mall
But, now we never bother...
all the sizes are too small.
We used to go to nightclubs
and drink a little booze.
Now we stay at home at night
and watch the evening news.
That, my friend is how life is,
and now my tale is told.
So, enjoy each day and live it up...
before you're too damned old!
'Life experience' ain't where its at. Its got to be heavy, deep, and real. I don't think I'd ever trust a Jessica Simpson-type, even if she's 64 years old. Some people just don't seem to "get it".
Interesting poem tho'. Funny how your perspective changes. Last year, I thought I was "young". Today, with an ache or pain, or death of a dear friend, I realize I'm the next "senior citizen." I try to be positive and plan ahead with hope. Age can be 'just a number'...
there is something to be said for "life experience" but I don't think it has everything to do with age. There are some 60 year olds who really need to grow up (ie narrow-mindedness, racists, etc), and there are also some 30 year olds who've gone through more s**** that some people do in their lifetime. It's all a matter of how you look at things. There are some things that you learn as you get older, but some people learn quicker than others. Smile
I won't give up if you don't give up. -=-Train
