A pretty sad commentary where friends keep a tally of what's been sent/given...sort of takes the true meaning out of giving...not to mention needing some sort of public acknowledgement for it as well. Very strange.

Steph, I found it STRANGE, so really not very supportive to equate how strong your friendship is ("Can't Buy Me Love") with a tally of whatever has been sent to you. I'd hope that my friends don't value my friendship based on whatever material objects I've sent them and sure hope no one is keeping a tally.

A true gift is in the giving. Nothing is expected in return. Not tit for tat and not some sort of public kudos. I sure as hell hope my friends don't come here and start listing all the shit I've sent out and I'm sure not going to do that. Seems to me you've taken something that's a natural thing for friends to do and tried to turn these gifts into something other than what they were intended.

Steph..I obviously didn't ignore you, I replied to you. I have no problems with you. I just said I found it a strange way to stand up for a friend. Emmie is lucky to have you.
