<~~~Drove through our (once) beautiful old neighborhood today. It's completely unrecognizable, aside from the willow tree my husband planted 22 years ago. The remaining houses are in various stages of disrepair. Most of them are surrounded by iron or wooden fences and many have iron bars on the doors and windows. It used to be a carefree, open, safe, and very beautiful neighborhood. Now, it's run-down and every house looks like a mini-jail. Frown

^ I recently did that too. Went by the house we first lived in this country from 58-68. Back then that area was middle class boeing families. Now, its like a slum. The little store is gone. The yards and houses have not been kept up. They even cut the willow tree down on the side of the house. Must have been to lazy to clean up after it. It was lots work. But it was beautiful and have fond memories of climbing it. This thing was huge. You could climb way high up and hide and like any punk 6th grader, try to smoke a cigarette. Even kissed my first girl in it......lol

A couple of months ago a tree fell on our old house and it's still there.

I try to go by my old neighborhood but they tore it down in the name of redevelopment. They even repositioned the streets and renamed them. The tore down the elementary, built a new one with the same name 2 miles away. Then they tore down the junior high and built it at the site of the old elementary. I get kind of confused when I go to to visit the old hood. It is a much better neighborhood now though.

< I got an inexpensive electric guitar for my birthday. I gave up on my acoustic years ago. Now I want to try again with an electric, which is easier on the fingers.

^Enjoy Cool Wish my fingers were longer and my eyes were better, time to get them checked too.... Frown

Looks like a golf cart for Christmas; we were just out checking them out. Had hoped we could get an electric one plus rebate but all the ones eligible for the rebate were on back-back-back, way into next year, so won't meet the government’s rules. Oh well at least we'll be getting a used one.... Cool

< Dad's sick. 101 fever, deep chest cough, and nausea. I'm waiting for the hospital to call back to see if I can get him some Tamiflu. Still no H1N1 vaccine around here, though we've all had our seasonal flu shots.

Thank you. I've been waiting over 45 minutes for the nurse to call. I called again, but they said there's an over one hour wait for return calls, the nurses are so busy.

I really don't want to wait until tomorrow to talk to his doctor, in case I can get him some Tamiflu tonight. He's 74 with diabetes and high blood pressure, so I worry.

Hopefully the nurse will call soon.
