FYI on Danny Roberts. Apologies if this has been posted

From TheLedger.com
By Shoshana Walter

LAKELAND | A Lakeland musician is in critical condition at Shands
Jacksonville Medical Center after a traffic crash in Jacksonville this
morning, a friend said.

PIERRE DUCHARME Danny Roberts performs with the Mudbreakers at
the Polk Theatre in Lakeland on April 26.

Danny Roberts was driving with his wife about 10:30 a.m. when a
semitrailer hit the driver's side of the car, leaving Roberts with
serious injuries and his wife with bumps and bruises, said Carey
Blanton, who grew up with Roberts.

Roberts grew up in Lakeland and has been a professional musician since
he was 14, Blanton said. Roberts graduated from Lakeland High School in
1970 and performed with his band the Mudbreakers at the Polk Theater for
a recent concert featuring Lakeland High School graduates.

A guitarist, bassist and singer-songwriter, Roberts joined a band called
Mudcrutch, a predeccessor of the Heartbreakers, with Tom Petty in
Gainesville in 1973. Before the group landed a recording contract,
Roberts left the band and moved to California. He and his wife currently
live outside of Jacksonville, Blanton said.

Blanton said Roberts was in surgery this evening and remained in
critical condition.

Man Frown - Um I know a lot of people have their opinions on Danny Roberts due to a lot of the stuff he posted on the other site after he was deleted from the documentary and I have mine as well but beyond that - uh Danny Roberts from conversations that I myself and other people I'm friends with have had with him over the past six months...he's a pretty groovy guy and I hate to see something like this happen to him or anyone for that mater.

My prayers are with you Danny.

That is terrible! It doesn't matter what people's opinions are of Danny Roberts, it's still a terrible thing to happen to anyone. Thank God he came out of it with his life. It could have been worse.

I just spoke to the hospital and Danny is out of surgery and in the ICU. He's still in critical condition. Please hold him and his sweet wife in your thoughts and prayers. I am.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Danny - get well soon. I am assuming his wife wasn't seriously injured as nothing is mentioned in the article, but I can imagine she is pretty shaken up - my thoughts and prayers are with Danny's wife and family as well.

No, it doesn't appear she was seriously hurt.

Too bad he wasn't on stage in West Hollywood on May 2nd. Fate can be pretty cruel sometimes.

Wow - that's very serious Frown I can't even imagine what his wife and family are going through, let alone what Danny is going through. Again, my thoughts and prayers are with them.

The timing on this is strange indeed!

I sure hope he pulls through. In some ways it seemed as though he was just getting started . . .

May the good lord allow him to finish his work and purpose here on earth . . .
