Do all dream package ticket holders get to go backstage? Do they meet TP and or other members of the band?

Nope.
Dream packages don't get you backstage or admittance to a meet and greet. (Well, my dream package tickets never got me back stage - Perhaps if I was really good looking? Cool idea but I think the band is probably so wound up after a gig that they just want to decompress. That would be hard to do with dozens of folks expressing their love for the band and asking about "that time you played that really cool song at that show....." Nope, if you want a meet and greet you are going to have to get very creative. Maybe take a pizza delivery job in Malibu and hope that Tom orders a pie for delivery! Crazy in love with Rock and Roll. |

Now that would be a dream package, wouldn't it??? Meeting Tom... something we can only dream about While singing to TPATH, "Quiet Mommy, I'm trying to listen to Thomas." Brett, age 5.After listening to a Mudcrutch show I asked Brett what she thought about the new Mudcrutch music. Her response: "It's great. I didn't know it would be so thrilling." Brett, age 6. "All right, now we're at the part of the show that we just go rip roarin crazy. Are you ready to go rip roarin crazy with me?" Tom Petty 6/28/03 Summerfest Baby, those few hours linger on in my head forever... |

I've tried those meet and greets recently with other bands (that they sell). Man those are the most boring things.
You are all tired and then the rules no talking no touching get your one thing signed and mechanically walk away. lol Waste of time! So don't feel disappointed by not having them! A wink or a nod on stage is much more rewarding! ************************************** Blues is the roots, everything else is the fruits (Bo Diddley) |

^ I have to agree with you there. The exchanges I have had with Mike and Tom from the stage were much more rewarding than the 10 second exchange I had with Brett Favre while he autographed my jersey.

I actually felt sorry for the band that did it. What a drag. It reminded me of going to view a body at a funeral. That BAD.
And of course I thank them for playing and did shake hands (my bad). lol The band was cool. Live Nation didn't believe I did that! So I'll keep the extra money. Thanks but no thanks. ************************************** Blues is the roots, everything else is the fruits (Bo Diddley) |

Thanks for clarifying that! I just attended my 13th TP concert May 31st. It was AWESOME!!! My seats were center stage 16th row (best ever for me), but I wondered how much closer the dream package might get me.

Close enough to see the scuff marks on the soles of Tom's boots.

If I recall correctly the Dream package tickets are in the first 15 rows.
It is quite a decision whether to go for the highway companion club pre-sale or dream package tickets. Ive seen some HCC tickets end up closer than dream package tickets, but it doesn't always work out that way. Of course being super close is wonderful. You get to see all kinds of things you wouldn't have a chance to notice otherwise, but the sound is not necessarily the best extremely close up front. I think the best sound I ever heard was at the Prudential center in NJ - our tickets were from the band's tickets - everyone around us had those nifty back stage passes - My wife won those tickets in the Tazzy fund raffle. Anyhow those seats were about 4 rows up from the floor. We could see perfectly, and it was almost like having headphones on. With the exception of seeing Roger Waters at Irvine (when our seats were in the exact center of the arena) I have never heard better sound at a live show. I just love hearing about people's experiences at the TP&HB shows. Especially those who never got up close before, or saw the band live before. Once you see these guys play live and up close, you are HOOKED! Its amazing what losers pass for musicians these days. When you see REAL musicians, the contrast is like night and day. May TP&HB keep rocking forever, because if they ever hang it up I am going to feel like a giant hole has been ripped out of my soul. We are so damn lucky to be able to experience their music! That is why we go to every show we can. Just nothing like it on the planet. Crazy in love with Rock and Roll. |

He did kicks at the Fort Lauderdale show! With his trick knee I was amazed! I saw the bottom of his sole. ha ha you could change that sentence. How many people get to see the bottom of Tom Petty's soul? ************************************** Blues is the roots, everything else is the fruits (Bo Diddley) |

Hmmm...the bottom of Tom Petty's sole. Let me check my list....YES! Still "in stock". Consult eBay today. The bottom of Tom Petty's sole is selling fast, so get yours today. Special tour discounts and new merchandise arriving daily! Tom Petty's sole can be yours if you want it bad enough! Don't wait, you may actually come to your senses!
Relic...I can just see a post concert "meet and greet". Tom and the Heartbreakers are draped across some sofa or stretched on some table tops rather comatose, and these super energized fans are milling about trying to affix pens and markers to their limp fingers, offering ticket stubs and bits of whatever to sign, babbling away like chimps. Security eventually herds them away as on a Monte Python skit. |

In my mind now Tom's sole looks like a reality picture of a Zap comic book. Keep on Truckin' ************************************** Blues is the roots, everything else is the fruits (Bo Diddley) |
