That was the first time I'd seen that all the way thru! Steve I have no clue who that is - not by name anyway. I think he played with 'em on SNL once, but they never focus on him, so I'm not sure...
That was a VERY cool video. You can't really even see the drummer through the whole thing. He looks like this guy Crash I use to know. I want to point out the twin towers at the end. Sad.

as for the twin towers at the end - this was made well before 9-11 of course, and someone on the boards here once mentioned how strange it was that the subject matter of the song is walls fall down and the last shot in the video is the twin towers.

It IS Ed Burns and Jennifer Aniston. The song is from the "She's the One" movie soundtrack TPATH did. Burns and Aniston star in the movie, and it's about a NYC cabbie (hence the opening and closing shots and Jennifer's cameo at 2:28. This version is called "Walls (Circus)" there's another versions on the album, but I've never heard it or seen the movie, to be honest.
Kind of a lost gem. I heard Petty say once that he "maybe shoulda kept it" for a real TPATHB album. Most other versions you see on YouTube and whatnot are stripped-down live acoustic versions (also did it that way on SNL, I believe).
I love this swirly arrangement and video. Reminds me of Tears for Fears "Sowing the Seeds of Love," which I stumbled upon the other day. That's Lindsey Buckingham on background vocals and the drummer is Curt Bisquera. Iwazza, you can PM me to arrange payment.
Curt Bisquera plays drums on that album...but I'm not really sure if that's him in the video. That's Lenny Castro playing the misc. percussion off and on in the video right? It looks like the drummers face is intentionally blurred out on the video? But it's hard to tell on that low res vid.

HB: Yeah, I'm pretty sure that ISN'T Bisquera, he's a lot shorter and stockier. I was just trying to score a quick $10K!
Ringo Starr is also credited as playing on the album, and, listening to the song again, that sure as hell could be him. Would also explain the effort they took to obscure the stand-in in the video. Thanks for finding this, Chap, btw.
It looks like Bisquera to me. He played on Saturday Night Live with them since Steve Ferrone wasn't available, and it makes some sense that Ferrone may not have been available for the filming of the Walls video either.
I've read that Ringo only played on "Hung Up And Overdue" on that record.

The only song Ringo played on on this record was Hung Up And Overdue. Which I believe was a Wildflowers outtake. Curt Bisquera played on all other songs except California and Hope You Never which featured Steve Ferrone.
hello CD listeners, we have come to the point on this album where those listening on cassette or records will have to stand up or sit down and turn over record or tape. In fairness to those listeners we will now take a few seconds before we begin side two... Thank you... Here's side two - tom petty, 1989
