Back around the time of "Damn the Torpedos" The Heartbreakers recorded a studio version of "Don't Bring Me Down". It was in heavy rotation in Detroit. I wonder why this hasn't appeared at a later date as a rare cut.......maybe on Playback. I am telling you it was outstanding....better than the live version appearing on Plantation. Anyone know more about this song? Anyone have it?

I remember listening to TP's Don't Bring Me Down in the late 70's early 80's time frame in Detroit as well. WRIF and W4 were both playing it but I thought it was a live track. I could be wrong.

I also remember after spending time near Rochester NY hearing on WCMF Petty cut called Blue Christmas or something . It must have been cut at the radio station. It wasn't the ELvis Blue Christmas .As I recall it was more along the comedy line like "I'm Stupid" from the bus ride on Heartbreakers Beach party.Anybody hear that one?
