Hi Guys- Probably very old news here, but can anyone confirm perhaps that this song (At least one guitar) has a capo on the 3rd, and played with a "D" voicing, and all broken open chords, keeping the the high "E", now "G" open during the entire cycle? Sounds really great on the Ricky-12 this way, and just would like to hear some other thoughts! Many thanks, Christian

Well how I thought the song was playead (one of the guitars) was

F (003213) C (032013) Am (002213) G (320003 with occasional 320013).

i no live tom does it that way and it matches the recording. i have no idea about any other guitars, but this i am sure of Smile

Actually, and this is just going from memory, that sounds like it might work. I know the live arrangement is entirely different from the recorded - that may very well be one of the 39458493 layers on that song Smile

Well thank you Mike; you do confirm that constant high G that most tabs don't show. Much obliged, Christian

It's standard F, C, Am, G. That's how it was recorded, and that's how it's played live as well.

I play the standard open F, C and Am. The difference is in the "G" for me. The verses use a 32OO13 and the chorus is 320033. That's the accoustic part.

As mikemono correctly points out above, the 1st string, 3rd fret (G note) is present on all 4 chords of the progression.

This can be easily seen on the Gainesville DVD. There is also often a "Gsus" added.

A new way to try that I think sounds really good.
Fm7 (the lazy F) with the G added. "Rock" the chord (pull off amd hammer down the F and A), play the C chord with the G added. Play the Am with the G added and "rock" the chord ( hammer, pull the A and E). Play the G chord with your first finger still on the C and hammer/pull on it a little. Sounds really close if you experiment a little.
