But don't they all?

Not a full review, but just a few words to say it was an incredible night!

The meet up at Chili's was so fun with Kira, Barf Boy, TheWildOne, Poppiesgal (from the Farm) and her Poppie, Petty Bitch, not me baby and her four beautiful daughters, Tricia4 and her sister. We also met MaryJane (not sure that's the right bbs name), who stopped by the table at Chili's and RockOtt who recognized us at the show.

It was so much fun sitting with Petty Bitch and TheWildOne on the front row!!! We were directly in front of Ben's piano, and to my surprise, I could see him pretty good. Phew!

The setlist was short and the band played about an hour and 45 minutes. Everyone looked great in something purple. Big Grin It was so much fun being on the front row by Mike again. That man is so nice. And I was finally able to tell Ben I love him, even it was by screaming it to him from 30 feet away. He heard me though and gave me a little nod, like, yeah, yeah. LOL! And of the 14,000 people there, Mike only took one picture...of TheWildOne, Petty Bitch and me! Ha!

Well, we are off to Dallas in a few hours. I'll post more about the show as the memories resurface over the next couple of days.

Rock on!!

You guys wore purple or the band wore purple?

Sounds like you all had fun either way.

Safe travels. Keep the dust off! Smile

Thanks for your review!

Wow, what a show! That was fantastic - easily the best concert I've ever attended. Of course, it helped that I was in the front row. Wink Still, they put on a hell of a great show! Mike Campbell is truly a guitar god!

The meet-up at Chili's, as Liz said, was really fun. I was nervous at first, not knowing anyone. But everyone was so warm and fun. Notmebaby and her daughters were so sweet. Trishia4 almost didn't get into the show due to a ticket snafu! I was so worried, that as soon as Steve Winwood was over, I had to go looking to make sure everything got worked out, and thankfully it did! In between Winwood and Petty, it was fun going to visit with everyone we'd just met at Chili's. Smile

As has already been mentioned in show reviews this tour, 'Saving Grace' took on a new sound and it's riveting! I loved how the band members took turns singing the various parts of 'End of the Line'. And the psychedelic, seizure-inducing lighting at the end of 'Don't Come Around Here No More' made me dance around like a crazy fool even more than I already was. lol I was happy 'Listen To Her Heart' was played. Takes you back in time, as so many songs did. Same for 'Even the Losers'.

I literally could not take off the smile that was plastered onto my face, I was having such a good time. Tom and Mike came over right in front of me a number of times, as I was directly behind the videographer. What a thrill to have your heroes see you, see you smile at them and return the smile. Such a simple gesture, but a thrill all the same. Knowing you are forever imprinted into the memory of your idols, even in the smallest way, is such a great feeling.

Mike attempted to throw me a pick! Alas, the fates were not with me for that moment in time and it sailed past my hand and a girl behind me got it. It was funny, though. I looked at him and thought 'He's looking at me'. Then I felt stupid for thinking that and looked away for a split second. When I looked back, he pointed at me and threw the pick, so I wasn't crazy! lol The same thing happened again later in the show. Tom was standing next to Mike as they jammed, each with a serious look on their faces. Tom looked over in my direction and saw me there with my smile still stuck on my face and he smiled back! I let out a laugh of shock. Such fun, great moments. And before anyone thinks I consider myself that cute or anything, NO! I believe I was merely the tallest person in the front row! lol And I had on a bitchin' TP shirt with the logo displayed prominently in their line of sight. Smile Then, as Liz said, at the end of the show, Mike walks over with his camera and raises his eyebrows as if to ask if it's ok if he gets a shot. How exceedingly cool. The only shot he took at the show! After he snapped the pic, he blew a kiss! Mike is too sweet. What an experience!

Playing 10 minutes shy of 2 hours sounds like a long set, and I'm sure for the band it is, but it went by so fast!

I think I've rambled enough for now. I'll post anything else that I remember later. Smile

Pics posted in Heartbreakers Beach Party section. I'm sure Liz and Kay got far better shots than me (Kay's camera was really nice). I'm no photographer! Your job is safe, Relic. Big Grin

I also forgot to mention that Steve Winwood put on a great show, too. He really tore it up on guitar at the end of 'Mr. Fantasy'. I just wished at the time that I knew more of his stuff. But it was a great performance.

We had such a great time meeting everyone and then running into ya'll randomly thru the show! I had never done a meet up before a show. It was really cool to put names and faces together.
We had great seats and I could see the whole time, which for me is sometimes a problem even if we're close, because I'm short.
I was a little nervous about bringing my youngest daughter, but I should have saved myself the trouble of worrying. She had the best time. She jumped and yelled and sang the whole show! After we got home and were talking about dancing in the aisles together to 'Don't Come Around Here No More' ( those strobe lights almost drove her over the edge with glee! We were all feeling it Petty Bitch! LOL ) my baby looked at me & said, "I almost cried at that part." When I asked why she didn't want to tell me because she said it was emabarrassing. I encouraged her and she finally said, "Because we were having so much fun together."
You know, it just doesn't get any better than that!
My girls were as excited to see, and ooooohhhhh and aaaahhhhh over Dana as they were the guys! She looked so pretty.
Betty Bitch, when Mike and then Tom came right over in front of you my girls & I were squealing for you!! We were all saying, "Look he's right in front of her!! He playing right to her!!! Oh! I bet she's having sooooo much fun!"
I think the set was short because Tom was having throat issues. I saw him cover his mouth and cough ( not just once or twice but COUGH several times during the show. If so, he certainly did a great job of not letting it effect his performance overall. He smiled alot, more than the last few shows I've been too, and I genuinely think we were a superb crowd for him.
Great show! Great folks! Great time!

Oh, wow, great stories! It just warms my heart to hear them. "not me baby" - your daughter's response made me tear up. I love how powerful these concerts are for many fans. The guys really connected to you all in a meaningful way. Thank you for sharing. Smile

^^I love your story Mary Ann! Your daughters were really cute and sweet. It was fun meeting all of you.

We finally made it home late last night after the last show. What a fantastic 4 days of road trippin' it around Texas!! It went so fast, but there are so many memories to pour over now. Big Grin

I really enjoyed the meet ups before each show. Everyone was so great! What a fun bunch of fans we have here. It makes the shows so much better to have that connection with others. Thanks to everyone that came out. And thanks for sharing all your stories, past and present.

Thanks for sharing your stories! My teenage daughters think that my husband & I are insane for seeing this band so many times, but when you sit in the front row and they look right in your eyes as they sing and play, it is sooo cool!! I'm glad to read that I'm not the only one who feels this way! What a blast!

That is the best story! I love that. Your girls were so sweet and seemed to be having as much fun as you were. I hope to meet up with you again!

Found a bunch of video on YouTube, but especially loved this one!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RepoBNVQI-4

I spotted my long arms up in the air a couple times, especially right near the end. haha And I'd forgotten that Tom danced a little jig at the end of the song, right in front of me! I remember laughing when he did that. Smile
