Well what I read is they were kicking around the idea of touring Europe next year. What year exactly is next year I know naught.

The tradition (giggle) is there is some kind of an announcement, followed by wild speculation about which venues / cities / countries are on the tour list.

Eventually the tour t-shirts go on sale (for pre-order) in the tom petty store and we all spend countless hours straining our eyes at the thumbnail photos trying to read the list of tour stops off of the t-shirts that way.

Finally the official announcement is made and we realize that was 'Houston' and not 'Hawaii', 'Denver' and not 'Dubai' Wink

Although I think they bucked the trend last year and actually gave out the info pretty fast. Almost caught us by surprise! Smile

I don't have the pocketbook for the 2006 Easter Egg Hunt. I actually am amazed I made all those shows and on time too! lol One year for the story books.

It sure was fun to meet everyone I did though!

I think everyone should go get lost in Europe and Australia now. If I could, I would! Big Grin

Add Sweden and/or Norway on that list!

^Oh, that would be fun, wouldn't it? We could all tramp across Europe going from venue to venue.

A girl can dream, anyway. Smile

Summer '09 Tour? This is the first I've heard of it.

But then again, I usually rely on this site for new info-- so I'm usually among the last to know. Razz

Am I the only one that doesn't want a tour this year? My savings account needs some time to heal first.

I'm not that bothered about one either actually. I'm saving my money for other things at the moment and I don't want to be tempted to spend any of it on tickets.

Well I just booked a trip to Disney so I really don't want them to tour this year in the US either.

Quite frankly, I had the PERFECT 2008 TPATH tour - 4 shows from the front row and 1 from the second row. I can't top that and I don't even want to try. I want to ride that high for atleast another year. Summer 2010 US tour suits me just fine.

Although I will be wildly jealous of those going to shows in Europe if that tour actually comes to pass this year.

While singing to TPATH, "Quiet Mommy, I'm trying to listen to Thomas." Brett, age 5.
After listening to a Mudcrutch show I asked Brett what she thought about the new Mudcrutch music. Her response: "It's great. I didn't know it would be so thrilling." Brett, age 6.
"All right, now we're at the part of the show that we just go rip roarin crazy. Are you ready to go rip roarin crazy with me?" Tom Petty 6/28/03 Summerfest
Baby, those few hours linger on in my head forever...

Tour Tour Tour Tour

Gotta get me some more of that kick ass live music.

Even if we can;t go ourselves, just knowing they are out there playing their hearts and souls out is enough.

And reading fan's experiences on the bbs is so cool! (Even if sometimes we need to live vicariously through their experiences)

So let it rip!

Yeah. I will try to attend the Springsteen shows at least in Finland and Sweden. Maybe some in other parts of Europe as well (depends on if I get tickets or not). Which brings us to Tom. I sure hope that he will announce the tour soon so that I can start planning how to attend those shows too and don't blow all my money on Bruce. Smile Would be the best summer ever following Bruce and Tom around Europe...

I would love if the rumour of a local show happens this year, but if not I too need to focus on healing my bank account and paying off remodeling costs. It's been a great run in the past. Hoping Europe fans have a blast should that tour arise.

I wish I had some magic secret to tell you but I don't. As best I can figure it out, all the stars aligned, the powers that be and the Tom Petty gods love me!!! The great tickets, meeting Benmont and all the other unbelievable things that happened to/for me... I really can't explain how other than pure luck, being in the right place at the right time, great friends and of course, the Tom Petty gods love me!!!
