I guess the latest album would be the setlist. I won't know until release date what that might be though.

Actually, here's a "dream setlist" that I posted just prior to last year's tour. I tried to draw strongly from the most recent TP/TPATH studio album, which was "Highway Companion, special edition". The actual 2008 setlists were nowhere close to my "dream setlist"; though they were fairly similar to the 2006 tour setlists (unfortunately IMO, as I feel the TPATH setlists vary far too little from tour to tour now).

"Dream setlist" (2008 tour)

The Waiting
The Last DJ
Keeping Me Alive
Night Driver
Dogs on the Run
Hurt
Free Fallin
Rebels
Runaway Trains
Home
Turn This Car Around
Ain't Love Strange
Wildflowers
No Second Thoughts
Nightwatchman
Century City
Mary Jane's Last Dance
Dark of the Sun
Finding Out
American Girl

Encore:
Refugee
Dreamville
Making Some Noise

2nd Encore:
Route 66
Runnin' Down a Dream

Why does everyone go ga-ga over Cabin Down Below and Girl on LSD? Honestly it's a waste of 7 minutes on a set list

I can live with 2 songs off of FMF and Wildlfowers for the rest of my days. I love Wildflowers as an album (FMF is eh) but it's been for the past decade a heavy showing of those two albums live and well, put some more Let Me Up, LAD, Hard Promises, Echo, and Last DJ on there

AGREE, and AGREE!

Cabin Down Below is a good song for the right mood! And let me tell you, the mood isnt right when you have 18,000 screaming fans ready to rock! That is a bathroom break or beer break song that no one really knows!

Good Call Martin.

As for Girl on LSD, I dug at first but I havent listened to it in over 4-5 years!

Cheers,

I like that too. I went towards a setlist that obviously has the hit because thats what people want to here. I will make another one with their other stuff that hasnt been played in a while.

It's actually been debated as to whether the audience really wants to hear "hits-heavy" setlists from TPATH or not. Some people assume that because the setlists from the past several tours have had the same few alleged "hits" at each show (kind of like one of those "golden oldies" bands you see on the PBS fund-raising drives), that this is what the audience actually wants to hear. Polls on these message boards have shown that at least the people here would either rather hear fewer alleged "hits" and more deep cuts, or they don't care what the band plays (they just are happy to bask in the band's greatness), but there's almost no one that has said that the hits-heavy setlists are actually desireable.

Then again, this is a self-selected hard-core fan board, and some have the theory that those who attend the TPATH shows are not such die-hard fans. And since the shows on recent tours seem to be geared toward first-time concert attendees, that's the audience they draw; some of the fans who have been to several of these shows don't bother going now, figuring it's essentially the same old golden oldies show now, tour after tour. So that's sort of a chicken-egg thing, are the setlists geared toward one-time "fans" because that's the audience, or is the audience one-time "fans" because that's the show they are going to get?

^ Pretty impressive! How about Straight into Darkness? I love the live version on Anthology, and it's one of my favorite songs, anyway.
