I've noticed that a lot of people have gotten seats in the first ten or less rows. If you have how did you get your tickets? (Ticket brokers, Highway Companion club or..? )

Thanks! :-)

They had a dream package which produced seats that were closer. The fanclub tickets were not offering front row to my knowledge but were good seats.

Won free front row tickets from the radio station! Big Grin

Next tour I'll probably just buy a Dream Package or similar and pay out the a**.

An interesting story: I met a girl who was smart, funny, intelligent, agreeable, and as an added bonus... Looked simply stunning! One day as we were looking through my CD collection, I asked "Have you got a favourite Tom Petty song?" She replied "Who's Tom Petty?"

We haven't spoken since.

The dream package. Sounds like a timeshare getaway.
People actually spent how much for the dream package and what did you get in your dream?

In addition to member only presales, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will be offering a "Dream" package. These packages will be available exclusively to members of the Highway Companion Club during the presale period. If packages are not sold out during the presale, the remaining inventory will be made available to the public during the public on sale.

Package Includes:
- One premium reserved ticket located within the first 15 rows of the stage
- Exclusive High Quality Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers 'Dream' Shirt
- Copy of "Runnin' Down a Dream" - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers Hardcover Book
- Exclusive Download of the upcoming Mudcrutch album scheduled for release in April
- Coupon good for $25 off any merchandise purchase from the official Tom Petty on-line store

These packages will be available exclusively from TicketMaster.com

Prices varied slightly venue to venue, I think in NYC a "dream package" ticket cost $250. It is also my understanding, simply from reading the various posts on this board, that most of these tickets were in the first 2 or 3 rows.

I just got really lucky. I bought two tickets through the HCC presale. Good seats but not amazing seats. Two hours after the presale started, I searched Ticketmaster again just to see where seats were selling. This time I searched for just one seat. Up popped one front row center seat. I grabbed it. I invited another person to use the extra "non-amazing seat" that I had already bought. I have never sat anywhere close to the front row before. I don't buy the Dream Package seats - too expensive for me.

The fan club did offer some in row 1. I got them that way, so did the people next to me.

These came up about 3 or 4 hours AFTER the fan club pre-sale started. When I talked to the people next to me they said they same thing. I bought them in row 8 he did in row 9 then a few hours later we tried and row 1 dead center came up.

The only people I knew at the my concert that had the Dream Package were in row 2, Trisha4.

I bought tickets thru Highway Companion Club. Got them as soon as presale started, $260.00 each. I bumped into someone I knew there in the front row, he showed me his ticket that cost him $99.00 not thru HCC. I don't get it, can someone explain? PEACE!

If you paid $260 per seat (and not to a scalper), you bought a Dream Package through HCC, not a "regular" (for lack of a better word) HCC seat.

And a little footnote for the future....even with the HCC on your side...the more tickets you want the harder it is to get the "good seats". I needed 4 seats together and had a hard time finding anything better than the 24th row on the floor.

^Absolutely true. I needed 3 together and ended up with crap near the soundboard, but I wasn't terribly surprised.

Edited to add: For the sake of clarity, I should add that I was not considering dream package seats, only "standard" HCC presale seats. And my local venue is MSG, where getting a good seat at face value is NEVER easy.

^I pulled 2nd row for 4 tickets with the dream package. Just with the hcc presale I pulled 8th row for 4. Decided to go with the dream package.

Dream packages and just luck. I got a dream package for Toronto and on my very first attempt getting tickets pulled front row centre! I was in shock for several seconds.

Two front row center tickets at Omaha via front row ticket auctions to benefit midwest flood communities. Living in Iowa, it was easy to get behind this initiative. Watching TP and the boys from the front row wasn't bad either.
