Sorry if I put this in the wrong zone, but I used to like this thread the best.....and screw the rules here anyway!

So "Cougar Town" is a new comedy starring Courtney Cox. I worked on it last week as a stand-in for the actor, Christa Miller. I noticed the episode was called "Two Gunslingers". When I told someone how this was a TPATH song, I was told the another episode was titled "I Won't Back Down".

So after an email with good ole Ref, she informed me the creator is a huge fan. His name is Bill Lawrence. Ref said he titles all episodes after TPATH song titles. If you go onto IMDB.com and put in "Cougar Town", you will see this tid bit to be true.

I am going to work there again tomorrow. I'm gonna take him the special bootleg dvd Zombie Zookeeper made. Bill is a powerful Hollywood producer, but money can't buy the dvd I'm going to pass along to him.

Kudos to Bill for honoring Tom by naming every episode after Tom's songs!! Way too cool man!!

How cool is it to see Tom has such a successful and devoted fan like Bill! Being put on set with this man is truly Petty magic at its best!!

(Now if Bill can throw this fellow TPATH fan a freakin' bone!!) Yes....that is my subliminal message...hahha

Cougar Town Thread

So I go to set on "Cougar Town" in a few hours. I'm standing-in for Bill's wife, Christa Miller (Ellie character).

I've got the bootleg dvd ready for him and some HB/Mudcrutch picks. I'm having a hard time parting with the picks though....ugh. I have duplicates, so I shouldn't be greedy.

Hey "singsinfrench"...that link you sent me clarified that it is definately Bill as the fanatic. I would hate to give the dvd to the wrong person!haha Maybe I'll find others on the production to be fans and I can spread tbe guitar picks among them. I'm all about spreading the Petty love!!

I think Bill is gonna be stoked.

So Bill is not exactly an easy man to approach...he's powerful and intimidating. I damned near had a heart attack when I gave him the dvd!ha He was very cool about it. He said this made his day and he owed me one. He asked if I was from Florida...I said no I just got hooked one night at a show. He said the same happened to him as a kid. LOVE IT!

So this episode is "Here Comes My Girl". One actor plays a guitar in the kitchen. See if you can notice the guitar pick. I gave the actor a 30th anniversary "Highway Companion" pick. Bill was using the guitar with the pick when I gave him the dvd. He didn't even notice the pick. I talked to the props guys and said to make sure it doesn't go into a prop box. I said I'm sure I elbowed some people to catch that pick! The props guy is going to give it to Bill for me. I didn't want to be overbearing. But hell....it's NEVER overbearing if people want to give me TPATH swag!!

Cool story! I'll definitely watch for the pick.

ZZ's DVD set is great. You'll have to tell him your story.

^^French...ZZ is my lil rnr brother. Don't worry he hears from me more than he cares too!haha He's very happy I gave his dvd to Bill. I gave one to Mike at a show last winter too...ZZ didn't believe I would do it, but I did.
