I dont know if its gone for good but it was missing last night. Again, I was disapointed because I was anxious to hear something brand new. Its gotten such a positive review on these boards that Im really curious to hear it.

I don't know, there were actually a lot of negative reviews for "Turn This Car Around". I personally loved the new song. It was one of the highlights of the show for me, but a lot of other people haven't taken to it yet.

My goodness.

"Put in new music!" "Take it out! I don't know what its about!" "The set list is always the same!" "They changed the set list and took it out. Wah!"

I have had the pleasure of listening to this new piece a few times now. I really, really, really like it. I have only a small inkling as to what it is about. This is okay. Nobody has got to die.

If it was not played for you mikemono, do not despair. This song is going to be around for a long time.

You know...Tom's eyesight is not what it once was. Quite possibly he looked at his set list that night and thought that the title "Turn This Car Around" was just a little schmutz on the piece of paper, and simply glossed over the whole production. We all make simple human errors. Tom included.

I was a tad disappointed to see they dropped "Turn This Car Around." I really hope they play it in Atlantic City. I loved it, I really did. I can't wait to hear it again.

But, I'm thinking maybe they dropped it because the majority of people at the "sheds shows" went to get refreshments, to the bathroom, etc... when he announced they had a new song they were gonna play. I know people did in Camden. And I have seen others say people have done so elsewhere.

Argh, it's so frustrating though. I mean here we are, all of us, who would LOVE to hear that along with anything else new they want to throw our way and they all seem to go over like lead balloons at the bigger venues. What I wouldn't give for this band to play nothing but a small theater tour. While I love everything this band has done, I know (just like you all do) they are so very talented and what they are capable of. I've loved watching Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers grow musically. I wish I could spend one day with them in the studio. Wow, what a dream that is huh? Heyyyy, there's an idea for a new contest... lol. Big Grin

Hmmm actually if past events can be viewed as proof - TP usually only deletes a song from his setlist a) because he is tired of playing it or usually B) because the audiance is not reacting to it (aka "set killer")

I'm with Poet 100% on this one - I love the song but there have been more negative reviews than positive ones and TP obviously is aware of this. I hope it returns!

I wasnt really complaining about it either. Especially if you read my review of the KC show (KC Masterpiece) you'll see that I thought the whole show was great. I was more disapointed that he didnt play it because Im sure, like most of us here, when Tom has new music I become very curious and anxious to hear it for the 1st time, that is all.
