I was looking at Tom's daughter AnnaKims (she's an artist and a designer and goes by Annakim Violette now) website and I ran across this photo:

http://www.theselby.com/11_13_...e/pages/image26.html

Anyway, there's an Alice and Wonderland book, a photo of her as a child as Alice, etc. I think thats heartwarming.

Check out the other photos of her, there is definitely a family resemblence to her dad. She is a funky cool girl.

Themis Smile

Wow!!! The resemblance is unmistakeable or is that a picture of a younger Tom Petty, in the black hat? That's a rhetorical question. Smile

Yep, thats her. If you google her even in the photos of her with different colored hair there is no denying the resemblence.

I find her to be very intriguing. Both she and her sister are very artistic and independent.

I'm sure they will do well, in life. They have their dad's (and maybe mom's, too) creative ability.

Its cool that they are both doing their own thing instead of just hanging around spending money and being useless.

So is that her guitar or one she painted. That's really a nice paint job.

I wonder what Dylan wants to be or if he knows yet. They are getting older really fast, in my opinion.

Regarding the topic line, the Alice in Wonderland theme apparently was Dave Stewart’s (Eurythmics) idea. Here is what "Song Facts" has to say about the video:

The video used an Alice In Wonderland theme, which was Stewart's idea - it reflected how he felt coming to Los Angeles. It was directed by Jeff Stein, who used a black and white tiled background and oversized, elaborate costumes starring Tom Petty as the Mad Hatter. Stewart appears in the beginning of the video playing the sitar on a giant mushroom. At the end, the girl becomes a cake and is eaten by the band, something that caused enough of a stir that they created a version where she doesn't get eaten. The video was a huge hit on MTV, helping introduce Petty to a younger audience and building anticipation for his next videos. (Read our interview with Dave)

Thanks for posting this Themis. She does look a lot like her dad. Love her design work, especially the eye with the heart in the center. Cool

Either way you can't deny the fact that there is a picture of her as a child dressed like Alice in Wonderland and the outfit on the doll is similiar to Tom's in the video. Maybe she created the photo as a tribute after the fact, we'll never know. Dave Stewart was their neighbor during that period so maybe he took his inspiration from her Halloween costume? Just thought it was a sweet, unobvios way of incorporating a bit of her Dad's craft into hers.

She seems like a very intriguing person. In a article that I ran across Alice Cooper said something to the effect that she's so interesting, the fact that she's Tom Petty's daughter is probably the most boring thing about her.

Who knows? I'm just going by what was written in "Song Facts" that the idea was Dave Stewart's. I'm not going to play guessing games.

^ I posted it as a sort of tidbit of interest not some hardcore fact to be debated, hence the "I Think" as the first words of the thread.

There isn't any debate. Thanks for the information.

I just wonder about famous people's kids. It can't be easy.

Tom acknowledged them at the Troubadour. His eyes just lite up. He is very proud of them.

Neat. She certainly has a very unique and self-defined sense of style. Will have to keep an eye on her work as it progresses over the years. Cool
